What is mold?
Mold is a fungus. It's a microorganism that is an essential part of decomposing dead organic material. Mold spores are so tiny that they cannot be seen with the naked eye and are virtually everywhere. Some of this spores create mycotoxins which are toxic to one's health and are the cause for mold-related illness. Older individuals, individuals with pre-existing ailment conditions and young children are more susceptible to health issues associated with mold.
The problem occurs when mold grows indoors. Indoor-mold spores can create a toxic environments which can affect the respiratory system of the individuals who live or work inside of a building where there's mold growth.

Mold Inspection/ Remediation
The first step is to have a water intrusion investigation. This will determine the possible causes for the mold growth and a solution to repair the issue. Mold needs a source of moisture to grow. You might have a busted pipe behind your walls, cracked slab or siding. Deteriorated window and roof seals. Deteriorated Caulking and more. We use state-of-art infra-red cameras and moisture readers to help up identify moisture intrusions. In case of a flood due to natural causes or broken plumbing which causes any standing water-water mitigation will be necessary. Waterproofing techniques might need to be employed.
Once the moisture has been found and eliminated, the next step is to properly isolate any affected area by erecting a containment chamber. This will prevent cross-contamination and keep the rest of the property clean of debris. Negative air machines will filter the air within.
Once area is protected we will begin by removing all infested walls, ceilings, carpets, insulation, plywood and any other building materials affected. After all affected material is bagged and removed from containment, next step will be the mold remediation process. We use a biocide or chemical agent that attacks mold to thoroughly clean the area. We apply this using Hudson sprayers to spray it directly onto the mold and foggers to make our product airborne and eliminate all spores from the air.
Lastly, we encapsulate all exposed areas with a specialized sealant that has anti-microbial ingredients specifically designed to kill the mold and prevent its growth.
